Diets can be popular, but are they really beneficial to your health?
Often, dieting implies restriction and limiting certain foods and drinks. Dieting can also be seen as a “quick fix.” However, most diets fail which can be discouraging. Restricting yourself can lead to cravings, overeating, and unhealthy changes to your body.
Aggressive dieting can even disrupt your metabolism.
Instead of trying the latest diet fad, focus on learning healthy eating habits and understanding the nutritional value of food. Sustainable, long-term strategies to maintain these good eating habits and eating a variety of foods (without unnecessary restrictions!) is great for your body and your mental health.
