What’s the beef with red meat?

Is red meat good for you? This has been a question debated over and over again. Keep reading to understand some facts regarding this issue.

Red and processed meats do increase health risks. Evidence shows that eating a lot of red and processed meats increases your risk for heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and premature death. Exacts amounts for safely consuming red meats are open to debate.

-You don’t need to eat red meat. Red meat supplies high amounts of protein, promotes muscle growth, and is a good source of vitamin B12. However, you can get the same amounts or more from poultry, fish, eggs, nuts, and following a plant-based diet.

-Some kinds of red meat are not necessarily healthier. There are no studies that have found that nutritional value or health advantages from eating organic or grass-fed beef.
